#1 Eco-tips, chemicals in fashion

Through this series of articles, we will offer you each week insight into the ecological impact of clothing production around the world. With LO NEEL, we are committed to the planet, our Mother Earth which welcomes and shelters us. We refuse to participate, directly or indirectly, in its pollution, degradation and destruction.

It seemed important to us to denounce abusive practices but also to propose lasting solutions on a daily basis. We hope this information will give you a better understanding of the underbelly of mass production in the fashion industry.

The LO NEEL team also supports you in raising individual ecological awareness, by offering each article in this series eco-tips to follow on a daily basis. By following them, this will allow you to behave and consume more healthily and ethically.

Here is eco-tip #1!

One Kilogram of chemicals is needed to produce one kilogram of textile.

23% of all chemicals produced worldwide are used for the textile industry.

Solution: know the ethical brands with labels controlling the use of chemicals such as OEKO-TEX, GOTS or others.

LO NEEL addresses this problem through several products that have obtained these labels. You will find a complete explanation of each of the labels that we have obtained in this tab: SITE TAB LINK. These labels certify that ethical and eco-responsible production is carried out. Our AMI and ANNA pieces have obtained the Cotton OEKO-TEX label. This means that the cotton used to make these pieces is organic and has been grown without chemicals.

We deal with chemicals daily through our consumption. They are present in the production of clothing but also other consumer products such as food. The LO NEEL team advises you to use applications that allow you to scan products and check all of their components. Do not hesitate to download French applications such as Yuka or Clearfashion, where LO NEEL will soon be referenced. You can also buy your clothes online via the Byoo Store application, which offers for sale pieces created only by eco-responsible brands. You can find some pieces from our collection there!
