The Montrouge Festival
The festival
The day after the launch of the new LO NEEL fall/winter capsule, we had the chance to present it to the public. Indeed, LO NEEL participated in the eco-responsible festival in the town of Montrouge, in the Paris region. It is also known as the festival of green and urban agriculture.
The festival was called “Plant Inspirations”. The name is actually a play on words created from the double meaning of the word “inspiration”. Montrouge is a large city next to Paris, so the theme of air pollution is very important.
The Montrouge festival was held on the last days of the summer season. Paris, under the effect of climate change, was experiencing intense heat normally experienced in the month of August. It is important to be aware that although it is nice for good weather to last a long time, this is not normal. We must not be satisfied with this. We should be alarmed by the situation. Our duty is to act, and that is what we are doing through LO NEEL.
We were very happy to be surrounded by actors who were as committed to the planet as we were.
The festival took place outdoors, in front of the Montrouge town hall. The theme of the 2020 edition was “the art of good practices”.
The house of good practices
The festival is young since it only has three editions under its belt. This year, the organizers have implemented a new concept: the house of good practices. The principle is simple: each room has a theme, represented by entrepreneurial actors.
For example, the kitchen hosted three stands: eating well and seasonality, discovery of microgreens and composting. The bathroom was dedicated to cleaning products and cosmetics.
We were in the adult room alongside the Fashion Revolution collective to represent ethical and sustainable fashion. The Génération Cobbayes association also had a stand in the adult room to raise public awareness of the theme of indoor pollution.
The children's room was dedicated to gardening at school and an artistic climate fresco workshop.
The show was dedicated to digital pollution and in particular to the internet. The challenge was to understand the issues linked to the construction of electronic objects. The stand also offered a series of daily actions to practice in order to reduce your ecological impact when using the internet.
The garage part was devoted to several repair workshops.
Finally, the garden was dedicated to the theme of nature in the city. The space hosted several stands presenting the role of forests in the city, the practice of hydroponics and the species of birds in the city.
A place for exchange and sharing
The festival was a great opportunity for LO NEEL to gain visibility. It was also an opportunity to meet our audience again! After months of confinement and bans on gatherings, we had the chance to reconnect with you.
It is always a pleasure for us to discuss and introduce our innovative materials. We are delighted to have been ambassadors for eco-responsible fashion and are proud to be able to show that we are the first 100% vegan French brand.
Hope for a changing world
We really liked the fact that a large part of the festival stands were dedicated to a young audience. It is obvious that change must happen now, but only the commitment of the younger generation will allow the radical change that we are waiting for and which will save the planet and the human species.
Hope today lies in education.
The entire LO NEEL team wanted to thank the organizers of this great project for the invitation. Maybe see you next year!
