Piñatex® or pineapple fiber, the alternative to animal leather
Share
LO NEEL uses Anam PALF by Ananas Anam fiber: the premium fiber made from pineapple leaf waste.
Our premium textile grade fiber, Anam PALF®, was developed using our own technology and traceable supply chain. Anam PALF offers a vital solution to the textile crisis and, to increase its positive impact, we are now introducing it to the wider materials market.
We use a unique proprietary method to transform pineapple leaf fibers into premium textile, without bleaching, without pulping and without dyeing. An enzymatic process is used to remove impurities without using harmful chemicals; the rest of the process is entirely mechanical. Anam PALF is traceable from factory to product and comes with a certificate of origin. Anam PALF is strong and durable. Its composition, essentially cellulose, allows it to be easily dyed using natural or conventional dyes. Thanks to our unique processing, it remains in its most natural form and is transformed into staple fiber, which helps reduce microfiber pollution.
Anam PALF is the key ingredient in our Piñatex and Piñayarn products, creating a positive social and environmental impact as a traceable fiber made from agricultural waste.
Anam PALF Process
After pineapples are harvested for food, the plant's leaves are considered waste and are often burned, releasing CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. LO NEEL uses bio-sourced fibers for a positive impact on the Planet.
