Creation of a Short Film

To mark the release of our brand new capsule, we organized a photoshoot and filming. A brand, to promote new pieces, needs a teaser, a short film. So, we imagined a new universe for LO NEEL.

The artistic direction
The artistic direction of this shooting was led by Frédérique and Loane, the founders of LO NEEL. To design and create the new pieces, they were greatly inspired by the surrealist works of André Breton. You can find these inspirations in particular through CÉLINE Made In Italy sweaters: a set of atypical colors and yokes.
The role of the artistic direction is to imagine the atmosphere that it wants to convey through the short film and the shooting. For this, a mood board is created. This serves to bring together various inspirations which will form the main idea of the shoot. In this way, inspirations are created for the location, for the decor, for the models' breaks but also for the style of photos and the style of makeup. On site on the day, the artistic direction team takes charge of the filming. She leads the entire team by dictating to each person their role and when they should play it.
Photographers
Everything is planned in advance by a timeline. The order of the outfits, the order of the models, the order of the scenes. The timeline serves as a framework and benchmark for the team, but the photographers and the director remain free. They choose, according to their inspiration, the angles of view, the shots and even the pauses of the models. For this shooting, the photographers were Igor Bedrinov and Marie Guillou, thanks to them!
Marie Claire
The particularity of this shooting is that we welcomed a third photographer. Walter Rodriguez, the photographer for Marie Claire magazine. He came to shoot our models Léa Pam, Maylis L'Heureux and Kalki Rielland.
It was a great chance to welcome a renowned photographer alongside us. Appearing in Marie Claire, a cult fashion magazine in France, is an honor for our young brand. Scenography and filming assistant
The filming and photoshoot could not be carried out successfully without a set coordinator. Flore Billy took care of managing the team by assisting the artistic direction team. Sometimes by helping the models get dressed, sometimes by directing the photographers to the next scenes, Flore made herself indispensable. She was the person in charge of respecting the timeline. She also created the decor by finding the objects and materials necessary to materialize the ideas of the artistic direction.
Make-up artists
Being a makeup artist on set for an entire day is not an easy task. Indeed, with each change of outfit, makeup is likely to be damaged and fade. Our make-up artists, Charline Colin and Donia Ben Naiem, were therefore on the lookout and on constant alert. This role also requires great adaptability. Indeed, we carried out this shoot in the Chaville forest, in weather varying between clouds and rain. The lighting varied and was not necessarily appropriate for the work at hand. However, the result is very satisfactory and we are grateful for their quality work.
The models
The models were the muses and inspirations of all the actors in this shoot. We thank Maylis L'Heureux, Léa Pam, Kalki Rielland, Clolé Assire and Cloé Angoran for wearing our pieces so well. Standing in front of multiple cameras is no easy task. We are very grateful to the girls for playing the game. The result is magnificent!
The realization
Pierre Gremillet was the director of this shoot. A film student, he was responsible for filming our models and then editing them. With the help of Loane, he masterfully directed our brand new short film. The images are magnificent! The music was created by his brother, Paul Gremillet, exceptionally for LO NEEL. We warmly thank them for this quality work.
